Day 17: Peer Review of Source Synthesis Summary Drafts
Part I: Lecture on Peer Review [2:00-2:20 (20 min)]
Click HERE to access a PowerPoint that will deal with ineffective/effective peer review student commentaries. The purpose of this lecture is to provide additional support in giving each other effective feedback.
Time prevailing, we will also take a look at common shorthand paper corrections as many professors will grade papers using this format. Also, it will give us a simple tool to use in our peer reviews. Click HERE to access the handout.

Part II: Peer Review Session [2:20-3:20 (60 min)]
A) Written Feedback [10 min]
Now, we will get into small groups (no more than 3) and sit next to each other. I will be passing around a hard copy of the peer review sheets.
If you haven’t brought a hard copy of your paper as I requested last week L, you will need to share you document electronically with your group, either via email or dropbox.
Then, Everyone will read and work individually to complete the peer review form on the same persons’ paper! However, you should ask questions to the writer if clarification is needed.
B) Oral Feedback [10 min]
After written review is completed, discuss your feedback with the reviewers by going over the sheet as a group. When you are done, give that person your peer review form.
Person #2 Written and Oral Feedback [10:10-10:30 (20 min)]
Repeat the process again with the second group member.
Person #3 written and Oral Feedback [10:30-10:50 (20 min)]
Repeat the process again for the final time with the third group member.
(1) Final version of your Source Synthesis Summary assignment is due via dropbox on October 30th, before the start of class.
(2) Start considering your argumentative research topic.
